LIVERPOOL FC’s skilful young starlet Raheem Sterling currently heads the squad tennis ball ‘keepy-uppy’ competition the Reds players are partaking in, whilst on tour in North America.

Using only a tennis ball, Sterling scored an impressive 58 (after a few attempts) blitzing Jose Enrique’s performance yesterday when the left-back scored 30.

Reds fans can’t wait to see more of the 17-year old in action, and will be hoping that’ll be the case during the club’s North American tour when facing Toronto FC, AS Roma and Tottenham Hotspur.

Sterling himself is looking to make an immediate impression on new manager Brendan Rodgers, and has already spoken on his desire to achieve this:

“He makes everyone feel welcome, even the young lads who are coming up. For him to speak to us is really good. He’s given us advice, he’s a good manager,” he said of Rodgers.

“The manager likes his wingers to press high up the pitch, so I’m working on that to try and impress him at an early stage and I’m looking forward to it. His attacking style of play suits me perfectly but I’ve still got to work hard in training and try to prove myself and hopefully it will pay off.

“I can’t take anything for granted, I’ve got to work hard, day in and day out in training, and the manager has said if you’re good enough, you’re old enough, so that’s nice for me to know.”

Back to the ‘keepy-uppy’ challenge, and will anybody be able to top Raheem’s effort and take the crown? Suso, anyone?

I've produced work for many football media outlets & am now happy to run a major site on the club I love - providing our fans with a voice, and to bring as much information and news on the club as possible.
