FSG Want Dalglish Return?

owners Fenway Sports Group are said to be considering the option of appointing Reds legend as club ambassador.

It is the role Dalglish held in 2009 prior to his appointment as manager of the club for the second time, replacing the much-maligned after his disastrous 6 month spell in charge back in 2011.

However The Independent has reported that after sacking Dalglish, amazingly now want the Scot back, believing the benefits of his return and his presence would outweigh any destabilising factors it may have on current manager – something which Hodgson claimed was partly to do with his own sacking.

Dalglish has only returned to Anfield once this season, distancing himself since his departure last summer. However King Kenny still remains a club icon, held in the highest regard by most Liverpool fans. FSG know this – and see it as a chance to go some way to appease a section of supporters who remain sceptical of their control.

Upon sacking Dalglish, principle owner John W Henry stated he would always be welcome back at the club he has given so much to:

“He is in many ways the heart and soul of the club. He personifies everything that is good about Liverpool Football Club.

“He has always put the club and its supporters first. Kenny will always be a part of the family at Anfield.”
