Inter Milan's CoutinhoLIVERPOOL Football Club have made an offer to Itaian club Inter Milan in a bid to land the services of 20 year old attacking midfielder Philippe Coutinho.

According to the Guardian, Rodgers is keen to add the Brazilian, who has one senior cap, to the ranks at Anfield after becoming increasingly frustrated with the Tom Ince saga.

Liverpool are believed to have made an initial offer of £8m to Internazionale, an offer which the Milanese club have reportedly turned down.

Coutinho came to prominence at Vasco de Gama and was signed by Inter at just 16, however he stayed at Vasco on-loan and only came to Italy in 2010. Coutinho has grown impatient with his lack of first team opportunities at Inter, having made just 27 appearances in his two seasons at the club.

Coutinho spent the second half of last season on-loan at Espanyol in Spain. His loan spell proved successful, as the youngster bagged five goals in sixteen appearances for the La Liga strugglers.

Liverpool appear keen to snap-up Coutinho and, having had their first offer re-buffed are likely to return with an improved bid in the coming days.
