Lovren Croatia Liverpool targetJUST when you think Liverpool have turned a corner they prove you wrong. After getting a win against a side in the top four last week, this week Liverpool travelled to Southampton only to be greeted by defeat.

These last two weeks were a sort of microcosm of Liverpool’s season. Sometimes showing glimpses of hope while other times, cruelly snatching it away.

This sort of inconsistency is a stark reminder that the Reds still have pieces to acquire, spots to fill.

At the outset of the season it appeared that Liverpool needed more attacking options.

Although they could still use bolstering in this area it has become apparent that the defence is something that needs fixing.

With set to retire and looking to be on his way out, the back line is an area in need of immediate attention. Add to the equation the shoddy defending that Liverpool has displayed and there is a real cause for concern.

Plenty of players will be linked to Liverpool, including the Croatian . The Croatian player is only 23 years old and is currently plying his trade for in . Although the defender is young, he still has plenty of experience albeit not in the .

Liverpool aren’t the only ones who see something they like in Lovren, with , , and all reportedly interested in the defender as well. This list of clubs should be telling of the potential that the Croatian born defender has.

It seems that a move for this player would be better than the rumoured one for .

Williams is five years older than Lovren and it’s not clear that he has more ability than Lovren. Although Williams has experience in the Premier League he also has a bad history with ; something that should be taken seriously.

Almost certainly, more than one defender will have to be purchased this off season. However, Lovren appears to be a good place to start. A young player with experience and plenty of upside, Dejan Lovren may help fill the need in Liverpool’s back four.

Sad to see such idiots supporting our club, people are delusional if they thought we would be challenging for the title this year. We need to get behind our club and manager. You have two give time and shouldnt expect results in 9 months. Plastic fans!

No buisness commenting when I made a spelling mistake on my phone… I just think that we should get behind our team. With fans like you, we would have got rid of Shankley in his first year

We need to sack the manager you dope. Any manager would have done better with what he had to work with.
Apathetic fools like you seem happy with lower standards and a championship level management
