REPORTS from numerous media outlets have revealed that Liverpool’s Andy Carroll, currently on loan at West Ham, may actually have a future at the club, albeit a very small role.
Carroll was signed in 2011 for a record £35 million, but failed to impress and was shipped off to West Ham on a season long loan.
However, Carroll’s stint in London has been blighted by injuries, and his recent brace against West Brom were just two of a mere five goals scored from 21 appearances.
According to reports from The Mirror, talks are set to commence in the next few weeks to possibly give Carroll a chance to re-ignite his Liverpool career if, as expected, West Ham opt not to make an offer to obtain Carroll’s permanent services.
Despite this turn of events, Carroll has been told that any sulking or any attempts to disrupt the squad will be unacceptable, and he should bring back to Anfield a will to work hard and drag his way back into first team contention.
If Carroll was to agree to these conditions then he will come back to Melwood for pre-season training, and will also have a special training scheme devised for him in order to improve his mobility, and to get a better feel for the fast paced passing game that Rodgers prefers, as he has continually insisted that Carroll’s type of play will have no place in his implemented system.
Rodgers has recently stated that Carroll’s future will not be discussed until the end of the season, with rumours currently circulating that a swap-deal involving Newcastle United’s Hatem Ben Arfa, could be on the cards.

I sincerely would love Andy Carroll to return to Liverpool and to be given a fair crack of the whip by Brendan Rodgers. He’s a good player and I think the only thing he needs is good crosses to thrive on, he can the player we lack for a top 4 or title push next season. He’s still young. It would be stupid letting him go after the money spent to acquire him. He’s showed when fit at the end of last season and for England that he can do it. Bring back Andy Mr Rodgers and throw out Borini
