Liverpool eye up shock Suarez replacement

Liverpool target ArgentinaCARLOS Tevez is a shock transfer target for Liverpool, according to The Mirror.

The Argentine forward is set to start his last year of his Manchester City contract, and could be available for just £8million according to the newspaper.

However, managing director Ian Ayre would have to work a way around Tevez’s reported £200,ooo-a-week wages.

Tevez is just one of many strikers placed on an attacking shortlist, should Luis Suarez leave the club. With Manchester City being linked with Edinson Cavani, Tevez’s future at the club could be limited. And if the Etihad club aren’t interested in renewing the Argentine’s contract, Tevez could find himself being sold this summer.

He is interested in talking to new coach Manuel Pelligirini before deciding his future, who is expected to be confirmed as Manchester City’s manager on Monday.

However, Liverpool may not bid for the City striker at all, if they decide to keep hold of Luis Suarez. The Uruguayan signed a new long-term contract last summer, and the Reds are hoping he will honour that contract. Suarez has raised questions over his Liverpool future after claiming he was unhappy with how he was portrayed by the English media.

Tevez scored 11 goals for City this season, as they lost their Premier League crown to neighbours Manchester City.

There is NO TRUTH in this story at all. Pure nonsense

  • Brigadier says:

Probably complete BS rumour but FSG sign 32 year old Toure & now linked with Tevez so contradict their own ageist policy. Bloody fools, last summer they should have bid for Huntelaar but decided against as he was 28. FSG have no clear idea of what they’re doing. Complete amateurs.

    • You heard says:

FSG are starting to get it…. you’re was a free transfer and their is no way we are paying him high wages. We need a veteran back there…. as for Tevez. I wouldn’t want him. He can be happy one week then a complete mess for the following month. We already have a knucklehead in Suarez – we don’t need another.
