BarcelonaACCORDING to a report from The Express, Pepe Reina’s agent has strenuously denied any links with him leaving Liverpool.

Reina has recently been linked with a number of clubs, including Napoli, currently managed by Reina’s former boss Rafa Benitez, as well as his childhood club and La Liga champions Barcelona.

However the Spaniard’s agent, Manuel Garcia Quilon, is insistent that the 30 year old has no plans to leave Liverpool, and that he is not seeking a move from the club he has played for since 2006.

Reina’s heaviest link has been with Barcelona amidst the Catalans’ uncertainty regarding Victor Valdes, and Reina is no stranger to the Nou Camp, having played over 30 games for the club’s first team between 2000-2002 (which included both legs in Barcelona’s UEFA Cup semi-final against Liverpool in the 2000-2001 season).

Another closely linked club has been Napoli, which for Reina would mean a reunion with the man who brought him to Liverpool in the first place – fellow Spaniard Rafa Benitez.

Despite these lures, Quilon took to tuttomercatoweb.com to reveal Reina’s ambitions, stating:

“Reina has been clear in recent days his thoughts, his future is still at Liverpool. At the moment there are no chances for Napoli and Barcelona.

“Pepe considers Benitez a great coach but his future will still be at Anfield.”

Hey all, I'm 17 years old and I've only been writing sports articles for a couple of months. I'm an aspiring journalist living in the Anfield area (about 5 minutes from the stadium, seriously, I can hear the roar of the Kop from my house!) I've been a lifelong supporter along with my entire family (except one Uncle, but we don't need to talk about that) and I've followed the Reds through the good and the bad times - and there's been a lot of both. I recently got accepted into college and shall be taking a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Journalism, with this hopefully being the first step towards a full time career in journalism.

Its still too early to talk about chances or denying. Remember the Torres incident?
