LFC targetACCORDING to The Daily Star, Liverpool have been given another 10 days to finalise a £25.5 move for Shakhtar Donetsk’s Armenian midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

The 24 year old has disappeared from the Ukrainian outfit in a ploy to force through a move from the club, and he has given no indication of his whereabouts since going AWOL.

However, Shakhtar’s chief executive Sergei Palkin, who has also revealed that he does not have a clue of Mkhitaryan’s whereabouts, is insistent that the midfielder will not be cheap to prise from Shakhtar Donetsk.

Shakhtar are adamant on receiving the entire fee for the player, and they say that the deal is only on offer for a further 10 days.

Palkin, talking about a proposed deal, said: “I do not know where Mkhitaryan is. Only his agent knows this. Borussia sent a proposal for £19.5m. I contacted Mkhitaryan’s agent. I wrote to him about the official position of the club. We are prepared to sell Mkhitaryan for £25.5m.

“This offer stands for the next 10 days. If Mkhitaryan wishes to leave, they have to pay this amount for him.”

Despite Liverpool’s interest in Mkhitaryan, Shakhtar insist that they are yet to receive a formal offer from the club.

Hey all, I'm 17 years old and I've only been writing sports articles for a couple of months. I'm an aspiring journalist living in the Anfield area (about 5 minutes from the stadium, seriously, I can hear the roar of the Kop from my house!) I've been a lifelong supporter along with my entire family (except one Uncle, but we don't need to talk about that) and I've followed the Reds through the good and the bad times - and there's been a lot of both. I recently got accepted into college and shall be taking a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Journalism, with this hopefully being the first step towards a full time career in journalism.

Talk about yesterday’s news. This is from 2 days ago.

Your article contravenes Newsnow’s editorial standards as it fails to link to the source, or add anything new to a story that has already been reported. I’ll go report you now.

Its not a secret LFC was after this guy. For the past 4 weeks press reports and even official anouncement said we’re going to sign Mkhitaryan. But now it seems we dragged this deal too long. With money bags Anzhi and CL finalists have entered the race to get this player, and with he himself came down to London,it will be the biggest dissapointment to every LFC supporter if we let him slip. So,come on Liverpool,we’re waiting for your good news.

Plz liverpool should sign him, at least having a goal scoring midfielder behind our prolific strikers wil take us no wia out of top four. So lvpl fc. We are loking forward to using the addition of mkhitayan to our lvpl starting 11 next season.

I see it coming. FSG only go after cheapo players. It does not matter whether they are young kids or old retirees. Suarez and Carrol purchases were the exchange of Torres sales.

    • Ekemini says:

It wil be a big blow if liverpoolfc fail to sign this player, this is the type of player dat has been missing in liverpool squad for pass 4 season letz see if FSG wil sanction the deal.
