LFC tagetSEVILLA midfielder Ivan Rakitic has admitted he’s flattered by reports linking him with Liverpool, reports Sky Sports.

After the La Liga side had a disappointing season, Rakitic is considering leaving the club, if they fail to strengthen their squad. And rumours of Liverpool’s interest have caught the Croatia international’s eye:

“I’m really flattered that I’m being linked with such a big club like Liverpool,” Rakitic told 24sata.

“I heard that something is happening, but for now there is no concrete offer. My brother, who is taking care of my career, is doing all the business about my future.

“But I will repeat what I said before: I will only stay at Sevilla if they will strengthen the team. I made it quite clear about that and they know that they have to buy some good players.”

Rakitic has been at Sevilla since 2011, but after the side finished in 9th place last season, the midfielder has grown unhappy with the Spanish side.

The former Schalke midfielder scored 8 league goals this season, whilst assisting a further 10 for his teammates. The 25-year-old could be a future replacement for Steven Gerrard, who recently turned 33-years-old.

Brendan Rodgers is apparently monitoring Rakitic’s position at Sevilla, and is considering making an official bid for the unhappy midfielder.

i think rakitic can play alongside gerrard just as alonso did. great addition to our squad if he comes… im also hearing we will sign the pacey llori..bring It on br

  • pap says:

allen isnt a flop and neither is borini as theyve both been injured for most the season. you cant judge either of them yet just like you apl judged henderson and now hes coming on leaps and bounds. assaidi is VERY good he just struggles with end product which could be worked on but by the look of it hes gone this summer. and Sahin wasnt a signing he was a loan… so id agree with moses tight and say hes made no flop signings. in fact hes made the two best signing of the premier league 2nd half (sturridge and coutinho)

  • joseph says:

BR is doing a good job next sesson people will see his hand work.and thos who want he to be sack will be put to shame, so shall it be
