Suarez: Stay, there will be trouble. Go, there will be double?

LFC SuarezSO, Luis Suarez is reported to have said ‘it’s a good time for him to go’. He’s complained about a feeling of persecution by the British press and he’s not the first.

Many players, managers and celebrities outside of football have noted the unacceptable intrusive nature of British paparazzi. How do you feel about Suarez leaving English football?

This season’s Champions League has suggested the English Premier League is on the decline and German football on the way up.

The investment in French football (well two teams) also suggests an upturn in the quality of the French league.

Bale, Rooney and Suarez potentially leaving the EPL in one summer would be a huge body blow for the league, not just the clubs they play for. All three have been linked with big money moves abroad as well as emerging Premiership lights such as Aston Villa’s Christian Benteke. The weather is usually better abroad but now the money seems better (no tax in Spain and lashings of oil money in France) and the quality of football seems to be catching up too!

Is it’s all a smoke screen? Admittedly Suarez doesn’t play for a Champions League team. LFC didn’t even challenge for 4th let alone 1st! Is Suarez behaving like Veruca Salt or is he just doing the best for his family? He has always forced his move away from clubs and he has a history of being in trouble so nothing here should surprise LFC management or fans. When he has wanted to go in the past he has gotten his way, and when he wants to go, he wants to go now!

Suarez wasn’t born in the Dingle, Liverpool; he was born around 7000 miles away. In my opinion he doesn’t really owe us much. He’s paid well and played well. He did make errors for which he was fined. Yes, the fans and club stood by their player, he’s their investment and it would be crazy not to.

It could be argued he owes us more loyalty and shouldn’t talk of wanting to leave. In my opinion he is entitled to want to leave but not to strike or sulk on the pitch. If he continues to give 100% (once his ban is over, if he’s still here) then he can want whatever he wants. If we receive an offer comparable to the £80m Ronaldo was sold for or the £80m Bale is reportedly worth then he goes with my blessing.

I’m not saying he’s worth £80m, I’m saying he has sold more newspapers than any other player in the last year and he would have been top scorer in the EPL had he not had a nibble on a tasty defender.

If we sold Suarez for £50m plus a very decent young player with promise then that would be fine by me. Otherwise £60m will do nicely.

Torres and Suarez were/are unplayable when at their best. When Torres was sold we survived. If Suarez goes we will survive and some say even improve. It will give us some cash to really see if the new scouting network at Liverpool FC is as good as the last two signings suggest.

Suarez is a man dogged with controversy; in my opinion it will only be a few months before he’ll make a new error. If he stays there will be trouble. The question for me is, should he go will there be double? I doubt it.

An armchair fan who loves the stadium experience but likes the bread and butter of replays, moronic pundits, a drink in a pub atmosphere. LFC is my religion.

Common sense is missing from football but the situation is always complicated so I endeavour to give opinion and encourage discussion and thought about LFC.

Funy man he is.i wonder where hs talents ends up.
No doubt he gves 100% in de pitch, has wining mentality wch makes hm make erors wen frustrated by defenders.
Sale him 4 80m or he stays.

  • James says:

There is no reason to suggest he will sulk. Suarez has always given 100% on the pitch, unlike some others.

And there is no way we will get the figures you are talking about. the mlost we will get is 50 .

I say keep him . He won’t sulk and he always delivers

  • hassan chama says:

am a die hard Liverpoodian from Nigeria am almost 13 years now sell him, an let us buy 3 big name defender midfielder attacker

  • Willy d'gaffer says:

Quality player, got all it takes to reach the top 3 best players but not with his biting and diving attitude. If we did get another £50m, I’ll be comfortable with his departure. LFC never lack strikers.

  • Raam says:

The biting incident and the resulting reports and the punishment was indeed very harsh!!.. What’s more wierd was why nobody saw or ask why he did it. Ivanovic was virtually all over Suarez. His hands was like molesting the Uruguayan. If Suarez were to wriggle and tried to move away, he would fall and everyone knows what will be the result. Already branded as a diver.

  • Raam says:

So it is meerly an act of desperation. Even it was still an offence, could have punished with a fine and a couple of matches. But footballing so called experts did what they intended from the start, make it as if Ivanovic lost his hand. Suarez apologised but it was not enough. Because he is playing for Liverpool and that is his worst sin.He have to quit Liverpool. Now their efforts are fruitful. Suarez is hounded out of Liverpool and England. EPL keep losing their best stars to other leagues. So we cant blame Suarez alone. It is better for him to leave. He did his best throughout the time he was here. So, Thank You Suarez!!

  • doobaz says:

I would love if he stay at d club but if he real madrid want him 40mill + higuain would be great or 60 mill then buy erikson benhafa micah richards and
gomez. Aspas is basically in already.

    • Vikas Dhingra says:

I dream too. Higuain, like any professional at the top of his game, established, would not want to join us. We don’t (i hope) pay crazy money anymore and he will (like Suarez) want to play in Champs league…he’s not a boyhood fan (might be if he did sign and you stuck a microphone in his face). If Arsenal, Chelski or any other champion’s league came knocking on his door and offered the same money then he’d pick them! If he was available then they would knock just as loud as us….but more likely to be heard.

  • duduking says:

Let him leave…… liverpool will find a good n better replacement am sure. Wish you the best mr suarez

  • donwaleski says:

He has not paid any price. A player of his type should be seen as a traitor and be compared to Mourinho. Professional players should learn how to take defeat.LFC has being behind him ever since his arrival and he should not forget that when Torres left,he(Suarez) came a better replacement. It will always be like that !!!! He has never had injury since he joined liverpool.Living LFC might be years of injury for him. He should be careful !

    • Vikas Dhingra says:

Al la Mr Owen and Torres and many others leaving LFC can be the beginging of the end for many ‘star’ players.

  • CHUKWUEMEKA says:

  • Cashio says:

Pleeease stay put almighty luis….u are de best

  • sam charles the king says:

Its simple, we now need to see and hear the leadership that either is at this once great club or is no longer there!!!

I’m going to tell everyone once, if this club cant now either sell Suarez or Keep him so it helps either the short term or long term rebuild then there is a huge problem with John W Henry’s FSG and the club to be fair.

If we are to sell do it as soon as you can! – but if we are waiting to use the money to even start buying then we also are showing next to naff all ambition at all!

Its hide time that the owners speculate to accumulate or we are not going anywhere.

    • Vikas Dhingra says:

Hey King, I hear you but not sure i completely agree. Yes to act now and act decisively. No to speculate to accumulate, we’ve had more than our fair share of debt and almost disaster. Financial fair play and stability all the way to success.

  • red says:

If Suarez go, nobody can save BR job !!!

  • curt says:

I truly love Saurez…but we can’t keep something that want out if its true..liverpoolfc is big not only in history but as a club…do believe with Saurez we can go foward (Saurez you’ll never walk alone)make up your mind
