PRINCIPAL Liverpool FC owner John W Henry has taken to Twitter to respond to Arsenal’s latest, cheeky bid for Luis Suarez.
Clearly not impressed by the North London club’s public tactics in the pursuit of Liverpool’s star forward, Henry asked the below rhetorical question on his Twitter account a little over 2 hours ago, to his 260,000 following.

The tweet has already amassed well over 26,000 Retweets and is in direct response to the Gunners who’ve had their latest bid – £40 million plus £1 – rejected by Liverpool.
The £1 is significant in the fact that it activates a clause in the Uruguayan’s contract whereby Liverpool must notify Suarez and his representatives that a bid for his services has been made – NOT grant him permission to discuss terms with the bidding club.
It is the second time Liverpool have rejected an offer from Arsenal for their number 7 this transfer window, and Henry’s jibe at the bid seems to clarify what Brendan Rodgers stated just last week – Luis Suarez is not for sale, ‘unless something drastic happens’. In this case, it seems £40 million plus £1 is just not drastic enough.

I think Arsenal made a huge mistake with that bid. Whoever sent the fax, email, written submision, however they do these things these days, should be relieved of their duties.

I do accept that he is a great player, the same way that being of a certain, ahem, vintage, I ackowledge Liverpool as one of the great clubs in the world. He is definitely beter than what we have, but I just think for 40 miilion we could get someone that would score as many goals without the baggage – Higuain for example. What I suspect will happen is that the transfer of latter wil trigger RM’s interest in Suarez; be interesting to see if they will offer much more than 40 million.
No mate, 40 million pounds players won’t come without CL football. Our best bet is to demand 50 and add 3 players to compensate for one and hope they turn out coutinho type players ….
Do not want the guy at Arsenal. Sure, everyone deserves a second (third, fourth or fifth) chance… But not at my club. This is not some provincial town like Liverpool; this is London. We have fans of all races and they deserve better than having their hard-earned money handed to a known racist. I’m hoping this story is smokescreen or BS, because I won’t be supporting a club that makes Suarez it’s record signing.

I am an Arsenal Fan and I don’t see why Wenger keeps pursuing this Liverpool do not want to sell the player. So he should just leave it.
You approach the club and tell them you are interested in buying the player. If they are adamant that they do not want to sell the player move on and leave the club alone. go another club where they are will to sell there player.

I think arsenal should get the message Suarez has a clause in his Liverpool contract his contract I till 2016 only the club boss can break that clause and Suarez said he didn’t wan’t 2 go to another premiership team I reckon Suarez is going no where besides Liverpool need him.
John Henry is a complete hypocrite and is trying to ‘play’ the fans. When WE signed Suarez from Ajax FSG initially bid just 12m and Ajax said ‘come back with a more respectful offer’, a while later he joined for 23m. This tweet will win over the fanboys and plastic fans but Henry is just manipulating again.
The official LFC website is blocking critical comments about FSG, its all part of FSG’s scheming.
Notice as well how Henry referred to the Emirates and not ‘Arsenal’, typical imperialist corporate talk.’
Henry may have smoked something better than the people from Emirates. Thats why he brought in Suarez the same time as Carrol and Downing. Because maybe he knew some jokers will be willing to pay nearly double or more for Suarez than the amount he paid. He will get back what he lost through Carrol deal. Goons!!
