ChelseaACCORDING to The Express, Luis Suarez has, in a surprising twist of events, encouraged Arsenal to increase their initial £30 million bid for him, saying that Arsene Wenger’s interest in his made him feel ‘valued.’

The Uruguayan has previously insisted that the treatment he was given by the British press was one of the main reasons for his wanting to leave the club, but now seems to have expanded his horizons to other Premiership clubs as well.

Suarez has urged his agent, Pere Guardiola, to find out more about the Gunners’ offer for him and to see if they would increase their offer.

Suarez’s interest in moving to Premiership club will also attract interest from other big guns, namely Manchester City and Chelsea, both of whom are reportedly interested in the 26 year old.

Suarez has not changed his mind about moving to Spanish giants Real Madrid, but, with the club not coming forward Suarez’s wandering eye has been forced to search for alternative destinations.

Speaking to a sport radio station in Uruguay, Sport 890, Suarez said: “I have to go back on July 21 to present myself in Liverpool and then travel for a pre-season game in Australia. But in football, as I have always said, you never know what is going to happen. I’ve said everything I have said.

“As things stand I have to present myself there but just a phone call could change those plans. It is good to know I’m still valued by teams like Arsenal.

“Friends call me up to ask if I am moving to Chelsea, to which I laugh. The important thing in the market, whatever else has happened, is for teams to continue to value me for what I’ve done as a player on the pitch. It is not one club at the moment, there are lots of options.”

Hey all, I'm 17 years old and I've only been writing sports articles for a couple of months. I'm an aspiring journalist living in the Anfield area (about 5 minutes from the stadium, seriously, I can hear the roar of the Kop from my house!) I've been a lifelong supporter along with my entire family (except one Uncle, but we don't need to talk about that) and I've followed the Reds through the good and the bad times - and there's been a lot of both. I recently got accepted into college and shall be taking a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Journalism, with this hopefully being the first step towards a full time career in journalism.

Love Suarez . If FSG had of got a decent manager and bought some top players then Suarez wouldn’t want to leave. He deserves to play champion league .

  • Matt says:

What an idiot, after speaking to a radio station in Uruguay he claimed two or three clubs wanted him and he welcomed Arsenal’s interest despite his previously stated desire to leave the Premier League due to unfair treatment by the English media – because it made him feel valued.
He seems to be suggesting Liverpool does not make him feel valued and after all that has happened, whatever the rights and wrongs of the Anfield stance when he was accused of being racially abusive, Liverpool hardly deserve that.
    Piss off then.

Liverpool will be aiming to finish top 4 next season, and the likeliest position if that were to happen is 4th place, and it would most likely be at the expense of Arsenal who still lag behind the manchester clubs and chelsea. Selling Suarez to Arsenal would almost guarantee arsenal top 4 , making it harder for Liverpool to break into the champions league. Arsenal is the club Liverpool cannot afford to sell Suarez to at any price !

How can you say Liverpool aspire for a top 4 finish when they bring in youth players in the transfer market while clubs like Spuds and Arsenal go for the likes or Benteke and Suarez. Liverpool doesn’t take itself as a serious Champions league contender right now and neither should you

Check out the actual interview questions and answers if you can find them, they really don’t resemble the quotes put out there by the British media. Suarez actually laughed off the Arsenal offer too, making a joke about it at first. Only when the interviewer asked another question about “an English team being interested” did Suarez respond to say (I paraphrase) “it’s good to know that English clubs still value me as a player”. He’s basically saying that it’s nice that at least someone in England doesn’t hate him and that he’s still rated as a good player that clubs think highly of enough to make an offer. There is nothing there about him being genuinely interested in playing for Arsenal. He thinks it’s nice to be thought of as a good player which is a totally uninteresting comment that’s kind of obvious. The actual quotes being pushed around in these articles barely resemble what was actually said, to say they are a paraphrase is a generous assesement.

  • Muideen says:

  • Abdisalam says:

As a liverpool supporters, in the case of suarez, at this stage we should’nt have to charge all the behaviours of the parrot, and charge its colour and other qualities that he has.

  • Flexzy says:

    Hmmm!…..
Suarez is a world class footballer. I would love to see him in Arsenal shirt. I knw he wont go to Chelsea. Up Arsenal

  • James Fishlock says:

Personally, it’s got to the stage with Luis where everything else he does apart from play football is outweighing the goals he scored last season and the performances he put. For a player that doesnt get sent off he will have missed 18 games for us through suspension and the season before last he managed 12 league goals, not a huge return. Who’s to say that last season wasn’t a flash in the pan? What I do know is that no one player is bigger than the club whether we are in the top 4 or top 10, also, if he wants to play CL football just say it from the start, dont blame the press then say you want to go to Arsenal. Makes him look very silly

  • Red scorpion says:

Arsenal is a bad move for Suarez he won’t win anything apart from the emirates cup,Chelsea would be better but hope lfc don’t sell him , we could get around 30-40 mill next season cos he’s such a good player .his value won’t drop keep him at all costs .

  • Chychico says:

You are taking the issues of football so personal. Remember that is up to the player to make his division not what you say in your kitchen that matters . Gunner for life.

  • younes Ify says:
