TODAY BBC Sport has confirmed that Liverpool FC have completed the loan signing of French international left fullback Aly Cissokho.
The 25 year old French international moves to Anfield from Spanish club Valencia, initially on loan, but if the player impresses then Liverpool will hope to make the deal permanent.
Cissokho came to attention during his spell at Portuguese giants Porto; his one year spell there ended with him being linked to many of Europe’s top clubs.
A £15million move to Lyon followed in 2009 and he spent three years with the French team, making 93 appearances and scoring 1 goal.
On the 23rd August 2012 Cissokho moved to Spanish side Valencia for a fee in the region of £5million.
It’s fair to say his career has stagnated in Spain, with Valencia looking to off-load Cissokho permanently this summer.
Brendan Rodgers will hope he can have the same impact on Aly Cissokho and his career as he did with Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho.
Liverpool FC fans can expect to see Cissokho holding the famous red shirt and putting pen to paper on his deal sometime next week.
