Liverpool's Suarez controls the ball against Thailand's national soccer team during a friendly soccer match in BangkokACCORDING to The Metro, there is a possibility that Spurs could challenge Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal in trying to sign Luis Suarez, providing their mega-money deal with Real Madrid for Gareth Bale goes through.

The La Liga giants have already launched a new world record bid of £85 million for Bale, with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy haggling on the price to ensure he can squeeze as much cash as he can for the Welshman.

If Bale does depart for the Bernabeu, Spurs will have a huge transfer kitty to dip into, and will have no qualms about splashing out for Luis Suarez.

The Uruguay international has, on numerous occasions, expressed his desire to leave Anfield this summer, though Liverpool have insisted he is not for sale, and has already been the subject of two bids from Arsenal.

The Reds have valued Suarez in excess of £50 million, though that would not prevent the north Londoners from matching that amount.

Spurs manager Andre Vilas-Boas has already brought a forward to White Hart Lane, Nacer Chadli from FC Twente, but he is still looking to bolster his attacking arsenal and Spurs have now zoned in on their two main targets:.

One is Liverpool target Roberto Soldado of Valencia (who Liverpool are envisaging as a replacement for Suarez) and the other is now Suarez himself.

Hey all, I'm 17 years old and I've only been writing sports articles for a couple of months. I'm an aspiring journalist living in the Anfield area (about 5 minutes from the stadium, seriously, I can hear the roar of the Kop from my house!) I've been a lifelong supporter along with my entire family (except one Uncle, but we don't need to talk about that) and I've followed the Reds through the good and the bad times - and there's been a lot of both. I recently got accepted into college and shall be taking a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Journalism, with this hopefully being the first step towards a full time career in journalism.

I see no source has been named in this article. Suarez want’s a champion leagues club, so why would he join spurs?

  • Aaron says:

Not sure where this article has come from but it’s the comments that amuse me, if he’s too good to be playing at Spurs then he’s definitely too good to still be playing for Liverpool!

  • TR7 says:

What planet is the writer from? Barley has Bale left and already misleading articles. Just a made up article! Pure speculation.

Suarez is better than spurs, BOLLOCKS!!! WE DON’T WANT THAT SCUM AT THE LANE!!! We can do without racist, rabid dogs like him. NO CHANCE!

  • Brigadier says:

Apparently Brenda has been lecturing Suarez about loyalty, a man who walked out on Swansea after ONE year! Keep em coming Brenda, you get funnier by the minute

  • allaboutanfield says:

I don’t see this happening as Spus are not in the Champion League.

  • Brigadier says:

Soldado and others are happy to join Spurs without CL football. Mmm wonder why? Money, better coach, etc.

  • REDDY says:

If they sell Bale for 85mil, sell them Suarez for 65mil. There is no better forward available in the world. And Suarez is better than Bale in my opinion! U can’t compare Soldado to Suarez. That’s a joke , so if Spurs want to replace Bale they should pay the price!

  • allaboutanfield says:

Sure confirmed its about money . What I don’t like about Spurs though is that they seemed to be interested in every target that Liverpool is interested in. Don’t they have thier own ideas ? Are they trying to imitate Liverpool’s style of play too ?
