The Liverpool Echo are today again reporting that Barcelona youngster Martin Montoya is on the list of potential targets for the January transfer window.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is a known admirer of the talented young Spaniard and Montoya has appeared on a reported list of targets ever since Rodgers got the job at Anfield. Unfortunately Barcelona have not wanted to part with Montoya.
However, with Montoya not certain to sign a new deal at the Nou Camp, there seems to be every chance that he will move come January.
Could Anfield be his destination? Montoya’s agent Jose Marie Orobtig was quoted as saying:
“The transfer window is closed, but I can tell you that the contract extension may not be successful.
“In the past, Inter Milan, Napoli, Bayer Leverkusen, Dortmund and Liverpool were interested. Anything could happen between now and June.”
One player who did not make the move from La Liga to Anfield is Atletico Madrid attacker, Diego Costa. The Brazilian forward has today admitted that he came close to joining Brendan Rodgers’ revolution during the summer transfer window.
“I had options to leave Atletico Madrid,” said Costa. “I was very close to leaving – Liverpool is a great team. But after so much fighting and overcoming so many difficulties to win my place at Atletico, I couldn’t go.”

This january maybe the right times for LFC ship out the players who truely doesn’t want to stay with LFC again. Hopefully LFC can sell Skrtel over than 15 milion pound fee to add more budget to get new replacement players. I would like if LFC can get Kryiakos Papadoulos. He is versatile player who can operate anywhere team needed. He also can make assist and score the goal.He is Amazing player, please do not miss him again to anothers clubs. After get Papadoulos,LFC can consider to strengthen foward areas. And next summer LFC maybe no need to draw big budget for revamp the team again.
