WisdomACCORDING to The Daily Mirror, Liverpool’s promising young defender, Andre Wisdom, is in talks with Wigan Athletic over a proposed season-long loan – after manager Brendan Rodgers left the door to departure open.

Wisdom, who represents England at an Under-21 level, is on Wigan manager Owen Coyle’s radar to help the club push for an immediate return to the Premiership, in a season where the Latics have 46 Championship games as well as their Europa League ties.

Coyle has been interested in Wisdom for a while, however Rodgers was only content to let him leave once he had secured the signings of his defensive targets – and he now seems satisfied after bringing in Mamadou Sakho, Tiago Ilori and Aly Cissokho (season loan) to Anfield.

Wisdom is very proficient at the back, and can play in either a right-back or centre-half position, and Coyle has insisted that he will give the youngster will be given plenty of game time.

Liverpool’s free scoring striker, Daniel Sturridge, has also encouraged the move. Sturridge, who spent some of his career under Coyle whilst at Bolton on loan from Chelsea in 2011, says that he maintains a special relationship with Coyle and has supported Wisdom’s move to the DW Stadium.

Hey all, I'm 17 years old and I've only been writing sports articles for a couple of months. I'm an aspiring journalist living in the Anfield area (about 5 minutes from the stadium, seriously, I can hear the roar of the Kop from my house!) I've been a lifelong supporter along with my entire family (except one Uncle, but we don't need to talk about that) and I've followed the Reds through the good and the bad times - and there's been a lot of both. I recently got accepted into college and shall be taking a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Journalism, with this hopefully being the first step towards a full time career in journalism.

    Great for his development .

Much as I would like to see wisdom playing regularly for us he clearly will not get much game time with these new signings. A full season at wigan playing a lot will be good for his development. He can come back the following season and genuinely challenge for a starting place

Though Wisdom is a good lad, but i will love it so much if his move away from Anfield can be made permanent

Femi, I hope you jest. Did you not see the game against the Mancs? He is not being sold. He will be a Liverpool player for a very long time.

Femi I think your being a bit harsh . Wisdom has great potential and still learning the trade also he’s still young . This loan move will be good for his development , personally I think we should have loaned him to a prem league club like crystall palace or Cardiff .
    Good luck Andre wisdom !
