LFC fanTODAY, The Metro is reporting that Liverpool FC manager Brendan Rodgers plans to go back to Derby County with a bid in an attempt to bring midfielder Will Hughes to Anfield.

Liverpool scouts had Hughes on the radar for sometime after the youngster had another impressive season in the Championship for Derby County.

The Reds attempted to do a deal with the Rams for Hughes during the summer transfer window but were unable to come to an agreement over the fee.

Rodgers now plans to go back at January with an improved bid for the youngster who has started the season in fine form and who has played for England Under 21s also this season.

Liverpool value the cultured  midfielder at £6 million, although Derby want closer to £10 million.

The Reds would be happy to go up to £10 million if a lot of the fee was down to future achievements such as full England Caps and appearances for the Reds. There is also talk of a link up between Liverpool and Derby, where the Reds would send younger players out on loan to gain first team football and match practice.

If Liverpool want the deal to go ahead they would have to move fast as Hughes also interests Manchester City and Arsenal.

Hughes has first team experiance. Will be a good investment. Raw but has great potential.. It will be great if LFC could bring Luis Muriel, Dani Hocko, Zivkovich and Luciano Vietto to Anfield as well. These boys are fantastic talents. LFC must get them now as their market will soar very soon. We already have Sterling,Ibe,Wisdom,Sinclair, Suso,Taxiera,Coady,Morgan,Kelly,Ilory,Alberto,Yesil,Pelosi, Flanagan,Robinson with Coutinho,Sturridge,Sakho,Henderson and not forgetting our on loan arrival,Sissoko and Moses. What a outstanding pool of talents. Who need marquee signings in future if LFC can nurture them to thier full potential?

Will Hughes already showing what a great player he will be. Would only want him to go if get around £10m plus sell on clauses in place. He’ll be at Barca or Real in a few years for megabucks. Want Derby to build our own team and challenge for promotion. A successful team will encourage players to come and play for us. Personally couldn’t think of anything worse than being Liverpool reserves :/

We don’t need any more ‘potential’ players. We will never get anywhere just buying young !

Totally agree. We have Suso who in my opinion also has great potential. No need to spend more money on such players. Raheem, Ibe, Albero and Suso are all young promising players. A good backup for Glen is more important I think.

yes we do have a lot of really good players coming through. give them a chance. sick to death of hearing about a marquee signing who would have no interest in the club apart from his ridiculous wages every week. who the hell is luciano vietto?

This guy looks like a Spanish midfielder. Amazing ability to go and control games. Very tidy and clean footballer.

I think gerrard could def help with his shooting

Williesta! He reminds me of a certain balding Barcelona midfield genius!

Tooooo much pressure! This is a young lad, trying to make the grade. He has not played in the premiership yet, however people are already talking him up to be the next Gerrard on some website comments. A better prospect would be someone like Shaw at Southampton, who is young and has played in the premiership. Coutinho was a great find, but he whilst young (although older than Shaw), was playing in Serie A, not a division or 2 down. We big up players too much too soon…..I’m a Liverpool fan and our standards should set the benchmark for everyone else, we should be gambling on players with better odds.

He is overrated and overpriced. why not we develop our own young academy players like Coady and save the 15 million pounds?
