LIVERPOOL starlet Philippe Coutinho is desperate to shake off his injury sooner rather than later and don the red shirt again, reports the club’s official website.
The young Brazilian sustained a shoulder injury in the Reds’ 2-2 draw against Swansea City earlier this month – an injury that required surgery to repair.
Coutinho has claimed that the operation was a ‘success’, though reveals he is bitterly disappointed about the time of the season he suffered the injury, given his dazzling performances for the Reds since his arrival at Anfield in January.
The 21 year old has put his focus in fully recovering and returning to action for the Reds as soon as he is physically able to.
Talking to Globo Esporte, Coutinho said:
“It’s annoying to get injured, especially when you are playing well, I now want to focus on my recovery, and do everything right to be back as soon as possible to help Liverpool in the league.
“The surgery was a success and this is what matters the most. I’ll be back soon.”
Coutinho is hoping to break into the Brazilian national team for the 2014 World Cup, and he is fully aware that the speed of his recovery will play a major factor in whether he will make the cut for the squad.
