LiverpoolAccording to The Daily PostLiverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is confident that Liverpool fans will give striker, Luis Suarez, a warm reception at Anfield tomorrow after seemingly renewing his love and dedication for the club.

Rodgers’ men are visited by Premiership new boys Crystal Palace on Saturday, with the clash marking Suarez’s first appearance at Anfield since returning from his 10 match ban for biting Branislav Ivanovic last season, and spending the majority of the summer transfer window attempting to force through a move away from Anfield.

Rodgers said:

“I’m sure Luis will get a great ovation from the fans.

“He has done his talking on the field recently. During the two games he has played since he came back from his suspension he has shown how committed he is with his work rate.

“The two goals he scored against Sunderland were reward for how hard he’s been working. He’s in good spirits and I am sure he will continue to score goals.”

Suarez was constantly linked with one club or another throughout the summer transfer window, the 26 year old was the subject of 2 rejected bids from Arsenal, and Spanish giants Real Madrid also expressed an interest.

However, Rodgers is not worried about the prospect of another battle to keep Suarez this January, saying:

“My only concentration was getting the summer window over and done with and having a top player still here and that’s what happened.

“You never know in football nowadays. After the experiences of the summer it’s so hard to tell.

“All you can do is have a sense of the present. At the moment Luis is in good form, he’s happy and scoring goals.”

Hey all, I'm 17 years old and I've only been writing sports articles for a couple of months. I'm an aspiring journalist living in the Anfield area (about 5 minutes from the stadium, seriously, I can hear the roar of the Kop from my house!) I've been a lifelong supporter along with my entire family (except one Uncle, but we don't need to talk about that) and I've followed the Reds through the good and the bad times - and there's been a lot of both. I recently got accepted into college and shall be taking a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Journalism, with this hopefully being the first step towards a full time career in journalism.
