Liverpool FC’s legendary striker Ian Rush has today said that either Daniel Sturridge or Luis Suarez will finish the season as the Premier League top scorer and win the coveted Golden Boot, reports The Daily Mirror.
Welsh striker Rush who is the club’s record scorer with 346 goals has been impressed with the form of both forwards so far this season.
Rush, 51, told the Liverpool FC website that the pair’s lethal partnership could lead to either being top scorer this season.
“They have got a chance,” he told Liverpoolfc.com.
“I thought [Suarez] was superb [last season] and he seems to have taken it on again. He has come back from his suspension and started scoring goals again.
“Sturridge had a great start to the season, scored in the first three or four games, and they are full of confidence now. It wouldn’t surprise me.”
With Sturridge already scoring eight times in all competitions so far this season and Suarez hitting the back of the net three times in his limited appearances then there would appear to be every chance of the Anfield duo being near the top of the goal scoring charts come the end of this seasons Premier League season and firing the reds back into European Football once again.
