LiverpoolLiverpool FC new central defender Mamadou Sakho has told Sky Sports that his best for is yet to come.

23 year old Sakho has been in impressive form since joining the Anfield club from French champions PSG in the summer, however he has assured reds fans that the best is yet to come from him.

“I’m not yet at 100 per cent, I’m progressing with each match that we have,” Sakho told the Liverpool Echo.

“I work every day at training sessions to progress and to achieve the highest level. It’s logical that I would improve.

“When you arrive in a country you don’t know, you have to learn quickly about the differences in the game and have to get on and adapt yourself to the qualities of your team-mates.”

Sakho’s impressive form has seen him earn a recall to French manager Didier Deschamps’ squad for the friendly game against Australia.

“Certainly it has made me happy to get my place back in the national team,” Sakho added.

“I have to reach my own goals and I do everything to achieve those goals. I work every day and I’m super proud to be back with the national team that I’m a member of.

“One of the big goals for any player is to represent their country as well. I want to represent my country with pride, as all players would.”
