Ian RushLIVERPOOL FC legend Ian Rush has told The Liverpool Echo that he fully expects Daniel Sturridge to hit the magical 30 goal mark for the Reds this season.

Sturridge has already made history  by becoming the fastest Reds player to score 20 goals since the first World War.

The previous record was held by Fernando Torres, who got his first 20 goals in 31 games. Sturridge however has hit the landmark in just 26 games.

Rush has said that manager Brendan Rodgers has to take a lot of credit for Sturridge’s incredible form since he moved to Anfield in January 2013.

“Daniel has come to Liverpool and Brendan Rodgers have given him so much confidence,” said the Anfield great.

“He always had potential. We always knew that he was a good player, otherwise you don’t play for Man City and Chelsea.

“Every time he plays he looks like he is going to score. And he excites people when he’s on the pitch.

“Daniel has got to be looking for between 20 and 30 goals this season. And I think him playing regularly for England is also going to help him for Liverpool.”

The Liverpool legend says it is ‘laughable’ to suggest Sturridge and Suarez cannot play together.

And Rush expects to see goals every time the pair line up alongside one another.

This is definitely one of the best deals done by BR and the recruitment committee. If Sturridge continues keep himself fit for the whole season, he should be able to score at around 30 goals.

Sturradge is a great young player who in my opinion can achieve great things. He had everything a young stiker needs. And the best part he is English. More English lads should play in the English league and am talking top seven teams in the country. Import players are great but English talent should be brought in more. Sturradge proves English kids can play at the top level.

If you go by Last half & 1st Half of this season, then Sturridge will score 30 goals by 25 of Dec. this years & that will be 38 games of a season. He has 22 already.
