A good fit up top?

Columbia LFCWITH the saga surrounding Luis Suarez not even at its fever pitch, Liverpool FC are already thought to be lining up possible replacements for the Uruguayan. As the summer wears on and more facts come to light about Suarez, the names toted as his replacement are sure to grow.

Liverpool are reportedly expected to announce a finalized deal for Iago Aspas. Aspas is a player that has played both as a centre forward and in wide areas and certainly adds some versatility up front. But no matter the potential that Aspas brings to the squad no one will expect management to stop there.

Rumours of Carlos Tevez being a possible replacement are starting to abound and Liverpool’s past efforts to sign him are well documented. However, his wages may deter some and there may be a longer-term solution available to FSG.

Luis Muriel is only twenty-two years of age but has already shown his ability playing in the Serie A for Udinese. The Colombian posted eleven goals and three assists in twenty-two games this past campaign for the Bianconeri. Muriel’s pace and positioning provide him with plenty of opportunities and at only twenty-two he still has room to grow and refine his game.

The Colombian is also a less costly alternative than Tevez, whose current wages are seen as a stumbling block. If Liverpool do indeed sell Suarez than the reported €17.5m price tag on Muriel would be well within their bounds. Although €17.5m is a hefty sum, it is the type of money that will be required to fill the boots of Luis Suarez and it still leaves the club with additional funds from any sale of Suarez that could be further re-invested.

It would be foolish to think that Luis Suarez could be replaced by any one player available to Liverpool, at least in the short term. However, it may take a committee of several fresh faces to fill any void left by the Uruguayan should he depart from Anfield.

Look mate. As our club can’t not replace suares, no club can. We have to replace his contribution . I wrote before about how juventus replaced Zidane and won the league . Get the fee, find 3 players who will give us 23 goals and assists. No one player can replace him. Even if we did , what’s the outcome? Finish 7’th? No thanks.
The club needs to be aggressive . If real wants him badly. Show the cash or shut up by a time/date. I wish he goes, players are brought in and it stops. I really fear if we change the defensive line up/keeper. We will end up with a disjointed team.

I am tired of all this rubbish..if suarez want to go let him go.. and Branda Rodgers should quickly sign good replacement..cos no Excuses this time around.

If he does go, we have to get big money for him. I would prefer us spending the money we get for on Alvaro Morata (he looks strong on the ball with decent movement), and Henrik Mkhitrayan, and Dejan Lovren or Kyriakos Papodoulos (Papa, only if the stories of him being a nutcase that disrupts the squad are not true)

It’s simple. Swap Luis for Higuian and Di Maria plus £10-20M

Read todays statement by Liverpool Business Director Jonathan Kane:-” Suarez is a LFC player and is under contract. He is not for sale. “! At last someone with a spine and with guts at LFC Board. So unless its an official statement from the club itself, all the reports are just hoax!
