Henderson LiverpoolLIVERPOOL FC manager Brendan Rodgers has praised the form of midfielder Jordan Henderson and said the young man deserves his recall to the England National Squad, reports The Liverpool Echo.

Henderson, who has five caps to his name, had not featured in any senior squad since 2012 despite being the regular captain for England U21s.

Although, since the start of the season he has been an ever present in the Reds midfield and Rodgers has nothing but praise for Henderson.

“It’s great for the boy and it’s merited from the start he’s had to the season – he’s been outstanding,” Rodgers said.

“It’s a big credit to him that I’ve been able to play him in a couple of positions. He’s that type of player.

“If you’re going to a World Cup, you’re going to need players that can play in a number of positions well. He’s shown already this season in a wing-back role and central midfield role how versatile he is.

“He always adds something to it. He’s got a tremendous work-rate. I think he senses now that the supporters have taken to him as they really appreciate what he’s giving for the shirt.

“As each game goes on, he’s getting better and better. Tactically he has improved, physically he’s very good – his agility and mobility is excellent.

“He’s gaining confidence from playing with good players as well. He’ll make a lot of improvements over the next couple of years and can become a really top player.”

This boy deserve credit 4 his workrate

  • Tony9ja says:

He only has work rate. He is still an average player by far. We need a top midfielder who can score. You don.t win titles when your goals can only come from your two strikers.
