Suarez tops Twitter

IT’S hardly a surprise, but the footballer who tended to be most mentioned on social media site Twitter in 2013 was Luis Suarez.

A biting incident, a drawn out transfer saga and countless moments of brilliance on the pitch was enough to make Suarez the top football subject for fans to discuss this year.

Twitter released lists for the top trending words in a variety of subjects and the Uruguayan was followed by #LFC in second place in the football category. ‘Liverpool’ itself also came in in 5th place, proving the clubs popularity is far from diminished despite a recent lack of success.
