football-premier-league-liverpool-v-cardiff-city-anfield-pa-18528309-suarez_3055310Ever the main proponents of the idea ‘go big, or go home’ it seems that Manchester City may be looking to add their names to the list of clubs looking to snap Suarez up over the summer. At least that’s what the Metro tells us this morning by offering a club record £70 million for the Uruguayan in the summer transfer window.

After both Real Madrid and Arsenal failing to tempt Liverpool in last summer’s window, it seems like a strange move by City, particularly considering Liverpool are most certainly on the up this season and – fingers crossed – should be able to offer Suarez Champions League football next season.

On top of this, the striker signed a new contract as recently as a few months ago and now seems genuinely happy with his situation. With the posusibility that Liverpool could even finish above City in the league and even become Premier League champions, it might be time for Join Henry to once again ask what they’re smoking over at the Etihad.

What is more likely is that, as we saw last Sunday morning with the “Rodgers to Barcelona” stories, this is just an attempt to try and disrupt the league’s most in-form team. It would be a genuine surprise if Suarez left in the summer and an even bigger one if it was to a league rival but the club should take this with a pinch of salt and concentrate on the upcoming league game on Saturday afternoon.
