Dnipro President Interferes In Player Affairs… Again

pr-KonoplyankaIt is becoming increasingly clear that Dnipro president, Ihor Kolomoyskyi, has more of a vested interest in Yehven Konoplyanka’s future than just purely financial gain.

Speaking once again on the winger’s future, Kolomoyskyi told Ukrainian TV 2+2, “I have contact with the Tottenham president. I am talking with him,”

“He is interested in Konoplyanka. We are in the stage of negotiations and are perhaps close to signing a contract if Yehven agrees.”

Having already – inexplicably – blocked the Ukraine international’s move to Anfield in January, Kolomoyskyi has found it necessary to sound off repeatedly since on the prospective future location of his current player, seemingly hell-bent on using the winger to have his five minutes of fame.

However, his latest comments appear to be more than simply just squeezing every last penny out of the transfer, as he went on to say, “I believe London life is preferable to Liverpool.”

Aside from where the club president believes Konoplyanka should move in the summer, you have to wonder why on earth Tottenham ‘president’, Daniel Levy, would sanction the transfer of yet another international winger when the £100 million he blew on a number of them last summer doesn’t seem to have helped the team improve in any conceivable way.

Regardless of the what Dnipro president says or does though, with Champions League qualification almost a dead-cert for Liverpool next season (and potentially automatic qualification), it is unlikely that there will be many problems in losing their first-choice targets to anybody, unless money is the key to any move.

Who cares anymore, the player is good but with Champions League football back at Anfield next season, I would expect a better category of player to arrive. I just hope Brendan can get a couple of transfers spot on. A little hit and miss so far in that regard.

Couldn’t give a tinker’s cuss if he goes to spurs. Jordan ibe’s the next big thing and will do great things next season. And easier to pronounce than this bloke!

They left out a good bit of the owner’s statement. I mean he literally said that Liverpool sucks as a city and that London is where Kono will be happy. Then he went on to say that “Clubs like Liverpool like grabbing players on deadline day.” and said we should have come to him 2 weeks in advance to make a deal… So much for being productive with Salah…
