Steven Gerrard and Daniel SturridgeWith over 20 goals a-piece this season, both Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez could play themselves into legendary status if they continue their Premier League goal-scoring form to help Liverpool lift the title. However, Daniel Sturridge believes that the clubs current legendary captain, Steven Gerrard, is the main reason all of the players are so focused on achieving the unthinkable now that they’ve attained pole position.

The Premier League’s second most prolific striker this season said “If we win it, Stevie really deserves it, and he should win the Premier League because of everything he has done for this club.

“Every player in this team will do their best to help him achieve that goal.”

He continued, “He’s just unbelievable every day, a great leader.

“He lives and dies for this club, he’s been here his whole career and it’s a great pleasure to play with him. Stevie is the perfect example for every young player around the country – a real example for every player.”

The words from Sturridge about his captain Gerrard will not doubt be echoing the feelings of many of his teammates as Liverpool look to make it league title number 19 and few would doubt that there is a player more deserving of a Premier League medal.

With the Red just 6 games from achieving that goal, sitting 2 points clear of the chasing group of teams, the team will require a few more performances like they gave on Sunday against Spurs and if the likes of Sturridge can continue in the form they’ve been in since January then they may well be about to give Steven Gerrard everything that he deserves.
