8459__3204__463486867While it comes as little surprise, it is still no doubt reassuring to all Liverpool fans that no less than 4 Liverpool players have been nominated for the Player of the Year awards.

Given the immense paucity of Reds nominated over the last decade, it will serve only to get fans even more excited for the end of season run-in, in the hope that those players nominated will be pushing themselves even further to win the title and their individual accolades.

In the Player of the Year category, Liverpool have Steven Gerrard, Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez. Also nominated are Adam Lallana, Eden Hazard and Yaya Toure but I think there can be little doubt that Luis Suarez is the deserved winner – even with 4 games still remaining – and is head and shoulders above every other player in the league and is rightly favourite.

In the Young Player category, Liverpool have Daniel Sturridge and Raheem Sterling. While the other players making up the nominations are Aaron Ramsey, Ross Barkley, Eden Hazard and Luke Shaw. It looks like the Liverpool duo may lose out to Hazard however, with the Chelsea player currently being the bookies favourite.

Oddly enough, Sturridge is rated 33/1 to win the senior award, along with Hazard, but sits behind him at 6/4 to win the youngster’s award.

Whoever wins, I’m sure, would be worthy winners but with the form of the 4 Liverpool players nominated it would be difficult to argue against any of them winning in their individual categories.
