Salomon Kalou could be on his way back to the Premier League, with both Liverpool and Arsenal battling for his signature.
With Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge being the standout performers in attack for the Reds this season – and Fabio Borini’s impending return from loan – it would seem like another striker wasn’t a high priority but it would seem that manager Brendan Rodgers has got his eye on a number of striking targets and former Chelsea striker Soloman Kalou has been strongly linked with a return to the Premier League this weekend, with Liverpool being named as an option.
The striker has impressed at Lille since joining them and reports claim that both Liverpool and Arsenal are keen to do a deal.
Kalou has been a long-time target for Arsenal but was linked with linked as recently as the January window. While Kalou may have a great deal of top-level experience, his inability to make a real impact at Chelsea (not to mention his links with Chelsea) would make him a questionable purchase by the Reds.
However, with Rodgers keen to bolster his squad for a much harder season next year, a player with experience – provided he could be acquired for a decent fee – could well prove to be an invaluable addition to what has been proven to be a relatively inexperienced group of youngsters.
Unless he comes on a free contract FSG will not sign him, 25/26 is the upper age limit set by John Henry, and as a Liverpool supporter you should know this already.
He is not the player to excite and make liverpool better in the upfront. We should go for Alexis
Dont like any ex or current Chelsea players but would be a better option as 3rd choice striker than Aspas to be honest. If this rumour is true then its bargain basement signings this summer.
