Liverpool’s young wing wizard has picked up the Standard Chartered Player of the Month award for April, after a dazzling month showed off his talents and all but ensured the 19 year old’s place in the England squad for Brazil.
With the title still up for grabs Liverpool took 3 huge steps during the first 3 weeks of April, beating West Ham, Manchester City and Norwich, with Sterling instrumental in all three hard-earned wins.
Despite another good performance from Sterling, Liverpool were unable to take anything from the game against Chelsea at Anfield but his 3 goals and assist throughout the month of April helped Liverpool top the table and earned Sterling his reward.
Speaking to LFC.TV, Sterling said “When the fans appreciate what you’ve been doing on the pitch it’s a real boost for you. I’m really grateful to be the fans’ pick this month and I’m very happy to receive the award.”
