Glen Johnson wasn’t the worst part of England’s defence

With more than 24 hours having now passed since England were all but dumped out of the World Cup by Luis Suarez (until Costa Rica finished job!), we can take a look at how the Reds acquitted themselves, with no less than 8 Liverpool players being on the pitch at one stage or another during the 2-1 defeat for England.

Glen Johnson –  Much better than he was given credit for, although that was still barely much of an improvement on his performances over the past 6 months for club and country.

Against Uruguay, Johnson was probably the only member of the England defence that didn’t make some kind of glaring error and his ball for Rooney’s equalizer was inch-perfect.

Rating – 6/10
