As Liverpool look to push on with their summer transfer plans, Adam Lallana became the club’s third – and most expensive so far – summer signing today, for a fee believed to be in the region of £24 million.
Signed on a long term contract, the England midfielder joins Rickie Lambert at the club and further increases the homegrown contingent at Anfield.
The former Southampton captain was one of last season’s stand out performers in the Premier League and his unique style of football will offer Liverpool something different next season as they look to take on all comets across 4 competitions.
Lallana has said “I’ve been granted my wish to play at such a fantastic football club, in Champions League football and competing for Premier League titles”.
So, as what had promised to be another long, drawn out transfer saga has finally come to a close, Liverpool can now focus their attentions on other targets and look to put to bed the Suarez situation, with questions over where his future lies set to be discussed by the club over the next few days.
Welcome to Anfield, Adam Lallana.
