Loic Remy has emerged as a leading target for Liverpool

Reports in the last 24 hours appear to suggest that Liverpool’s primary rivals for the signature of QPR’s Loic Remy, Arsenal, have pulled out of the race to sign the striker.

The Frenchman, who spent last season on loan at Newcastle, has been in demand since his first season in the Premier League but QPR have not yet received a solid offer from any side.

Remy is believed to be available for around £8 million and while Brendan Rodger’s first choice still appears to be Wilfried Bony, Remy looks to be the second-choice target if Bony cannot be acquired.

Over the weekend, Live4liverpool commented in 2 separate articles about whether Bony was a good enough signing for Liverpool, whilst many fans have already made their feelings clear. Likewise, French striker Remy is unlikely to get the pulses racing, despite the much lower fee, the prospect of signing a player with just a seasons worth of Premier League games to his name and a record of 91 goals in over 230 games doesn’t seem like any more of a guarantee of goals than many of Liverpool’s squad players.

But, at this stage, these are all just rumours and conjecture and there is no official indication that Liverpool are chasing the QPR man.

How would you feel about signing Remy? Is this link another example of Liverpool setting their sights on below-par players?

Pls, i don’t want lfc to finish 7th again. Remy is a mid-table player & i don’t want to hear about him.

Liverpool should sign Reus and Isco. In Suarez we lost not only his goals but his creativity and imagination. So we need just not goal scorer but all round player with imagination.

Our manager Rodgers should put more target on pogba, vidal and Reus and am sure liverpool will defend both premiership and european championship.

Please rodger just sign bony and live the rest one, because bony has the strength, power and the skill like suarez and even the passes he make and with my option if he be lfc player he will be like suarez and even more than because he is strong and a good scorer with head and legs

he is good finisher, strong with the way we play hope he will score more than 20 goal. remember we have markovic coutinhoand steeling who beats oponents so easily now we just need the pocher hope this is very good move

remy is a very astute finisher.. if we supply him sufficiently, he will score surely.. all depends on markovic, sterling and coutinho for the supplies .. can we rely on them?? sterling and markovic are good dribblers, but will they not try to overdo and hence release the ball too late??
