With the deal for Loic Remy having fallen through and any move for Wilfried Bony (thankfully) scuppered, Liverpool haven’t had the most successful of weeks, apart from the signing of Dejan Lovren over the weekend.

Following Luis Suarez’s move to Barcelona, the Reds have been linked to numerous attacking player, all touted as potential replacements and now the names of Argentines Ezequiel Lavezzi and Nicolas Gaitan have arisen as big-money targets to go some way to filling that particular hole.

Lavezzi was a £26 million signing from Napoli 2 years ago and, despite having had a relatively impressive time at PSG, he now appears surplus to requirements, with more illustrious players moving to the super-rich French side, meaning he may be available for as little as £18 million.

Whereas Gaitan would cost considerably more but would, potentially, have more to offer given he is 3 years younger.

Both are relatively adaptable players, able to play wide or in a number of attacking roles across the front-line. Neither player is exceptionally prolific in terms of goals, but with Lavezzi often operating as a forward throughout his career, his goals-to-games ratio is more impressive.

Either player would be a good addition to the Reds squad but would they be able to help push Liverpool closer to the level they were at last season? Which – if either – would you prefer?

No no no and no again. Overrated. We’ve wasted enough money this summer. Please do not waste another penny

either two may be a good addition to our squad but there is no point in signing players like pogba or vidal if we don’t need them. its better if we buy 4-5 good players rather than 2 super expensive players.

We realy need a prolific world class attacker if our aim is to challenge for EPL tittle and other trophies in England & Euroupe. It must occur to us that this year’s EPL will be more competative than previous years. Agreed, we ve made some improvements in our midfield & especialy in our defence that was very porous last season. For God’s sake, we re in dire need of an attacker of a worldclass to fill Suarez’s gab. Unless this is done, we ve not started anything yet because in football, every department must be equiped for a purposefull coompetition.

still wonder the kind result Br. will produce with these average players he has been signing. Left important areas and signing unimportant areas. Point man needed. Left wing back needed.and marco rojo is up there to grab for that void. The partnership of two british at champions league will lead Lfc no where. Studrrige is selfish.

We need a striker ASAP. I hope Rogers doesn’t pin his hopes on sturridge/lambert. Top 4 is out if reach as it stands.
