Are Liverpool about to miss out on Chilean Sanchez?

Liverpool now look like missing out on Barcelona’s Alexis Sanchez, as Arsenal have reportedly agreed a fee with Barcelona for the player. The Chilean has so far not been directly quoted as saying he’d prefer a move to Arsenal (should that be London?) but reports appear to suggest that that is very much the case.

Having initially fallen short of what Barcelona were asking for for the forward, Arsenal now look to have matched his valuation, allowing the move to progress.

However, nothing is yet set in stone and reports on Sunday indicated that both Liverpool and Arsenal were due to meet Sanchez’s representatives in London today (with Liverpool supposedly already having met his valuation) with a view to arranging a transfer for the player.

With Suarez almost certainly going to become a Barcelona player by the end of the week, Sanchez is one of the few players that could’ve truly softened the blow of losing such a talismanic striker and losing both Suarez and the possibility of signing Sanchez will almost certainly weaken Liverpool, whilst subsequently strengthening major rivals next season, in Arsenal.

There is still hope that Liverpool could convince Sanchez that a move to Anfield would be better for him and with Suarez due to go, there is also an opening to be the fans’ new idol, somebody that the fans will take to their heart in a way that wouldn’t happen at Arsenal.

Not only that, but Liverpool are reportedly willing to offer the player upwards of £30,000 more a week than Arsenal, something which is made possible by Suarez’s exit.

Many fans will feel slighted by Sanchez’s supposed preference for the Gunners and merely giving the player more money just to choose the club over a rival won’t sit well. But then, the question remains: can Liverpool really afford to lose out on a world class talent, simply because he likes the look of London more than the city of Liverpool?

Either way, it’s going to be another interesting week in the transfer market.

According to who? Maybe the journalist’s grandpa! These things are said to provoke LFC supporters and in fools hope that other teams will back out from speaking to the player himself. Gooners maybe forgotten the William fiasco last summer. Nothing is over till the player signs on the dotted line.

Think his intimidated by takin over from suarez….at least lfc wont waste too much time on that as other targets have been identified….br should consider loic remy coz when sturridge gets injured would rather we turn to him than borini or lambert.

I think if he doesnt want to join LfC, we should not force the issue. Rather take the 75million and sign…. Shakiri (15m), Ballotelli (25m), Di Maria (35mil) = 75mil…. im sure these 3 players including what we have already signed and soon to be signed (Markovic, Loveren)… I would not sign Origi if Ballotelli was signed. Rather us sign the Argentine left back Rojo for Origi money… Or maybe sell Lucas cos we have Gerrard in that position and signed Emre Can. Sell Aspas, Agger, Lucas we should get 25mil for all 3… and id love us to sign Lucas Moura from Psg..

We can sign Shaqiri if we miss out him. But we need a suarez replacement asap. Mario Mundzukic can be an ideal candidate, good all round player, alternatively we can sign Isco.
