According reports from the Liverpool ECHO this evening, Reds target Lazar Markovic will be in Liverpool for his medical tomorrow morning, with a view to becoming the clubs’ newest signing.

Rumours of interest in Markovic were on the decline until Sunday morning, when it was announced that Liverpool had made an offer for the player and now, with his release clause seemingly activated, the player looks almost certain to be a Liverpool player before the weekend.

Former managers of the Serbian’s have spoken his praises in recent years and his international team-mate Matic has, in the past few days, reiterated the view that the 20 year old could easily go on to become one of the world’s best in his position.

With Luis Suarez set to leave in the next few days, Liverpool have yet to show a real interest in that elusive ‘marquee’ signing but with the players already signed and the prospective signing of Markovic, the goals that Suarez would’ve contributed this season look to be on their way to being covered.

Does the prospect of the Serbian signing show that Liverpool are moving in the right direction?

I prefer sign yaya, please board …… starting line up on midfielder for 4-4-2 diamond : gerrad/can-hendo-lallana/sterling/cou-yaya and two forward : sturridge – markovic/griezmann (hopefully). I think the left-back and CB is signing priority, for example rojo(LB) and lovren (CB).

  • Emeka says:

Anybody stil wanting us to sign lovren despite his recent appaling and unproffessional attitude for 20m needs to b hanged::if shaqiri isnt coming den get griezmann..by d way remy? Comon kops our club deserves better
