With reports of Liverpool’s interest in Divock Origi remaining consistent over the past fortnight, it was only a matter of time before rumours became reality, as the young Belgian visited Anfield on Wednesday to meet his potential new manager and take in a tour of the facilities.
The young striker first catapulted himself onto the Reds radar after his World Cup debut, putting in a superb performance and subsequently keeping his more senior team-mate, Romelu Lukaku out of the starting line-up, right up until Belgium were knocked out.
The big Lille striker has yet to hit his stride, when it comes to being a regular goal-scorer but with the move due to include a loan back to his current club, his development will continue unabated and Liverpool should be welcoming a top young striker this time next year.
Unsurprisingly, Spurs have shown interest in the striker in the past 24 hours but with Liverpool having already agreed a £6 million (potentially increasing to £9.8 million with add-ons) fee, and reached a solid agreement to loan the player back, it’s unlikely that the player will have his mind changed, despite indicating that he wishes to go away and make a decision.
thrilled. 10m on someone with a rubbish record. he is foreign though so he must be a genius. complete waste of money. apparently there’s a 13 year old in belarus who’s got 1 in 40 for his local team. maybe we should bid 10m for him too
