Reds’ full back Jon Flanagan attended Liverpool FC Foundation’s Respect 4 All summer camp [Wednesday 27th 2014] to congratulate its local stars.

Jon met with a group of participants enjoying their final summer football coaching session at North Liverpool Academy alongside Liverpool Ladies defender, Martha Harris and Ryan McLaughlin from the Club’s Academy.

The participants, who all regularly attend the Foundation’s Respect 4 All Programme, were presented with certificates and LFC goodies by Jon, Martha and Ryan.

The Respect 4 All programme, which run five days a week during school term time, delivers free impairment-specific multi-sport classes to more than 200 children and adults in Liverpool and Wirral every week.

The classes cater for children (8-16 yr. olds) and adults with severe learning difficulties, visual and physical impairment (ambulant) and wheelchair users.

Jon Flanagan said: “It was great to come along and see all the participants having fun and enjoying their sports. Presenting them with their certificates to recognise their hard work over the summer was really rewarding for me.”

The programme, which was established in 2004, is based at St Margaret’s CE School in Aigburth, Liverpool and Woodchurch High School in Wirral.

Mark Haig, Liverpool FC Foundation’s Head of Operations, said: “It was fantastic for Jon, Martha and Ryan to visit one of our summer camps and meet some Respect 4 All participants. A visit like this really encourages youngsters to keep active and this regular physical activity has real health benefits. The camps are always great fun with a lot of laughter and to meet three of the players today gave such a boost to those attending.”
