FIFA 15 is just around the corner and for any FIFA playing Liverpool fan, there are a few questions that we can’t wait to be answered. What star rating will Liverpool be after finishing second; will they finally return to being a 5* team? What youngsters will be in career mode? Along with the more obvious questions such as will we see an improvement from the face recognition software? How impressive will the new stadiums look; including Anfield (from the still images released, it looks amazing!)?
But above all for me, I want to know the LFC player ratings. After such a standout season, I wouldn’t be surprised to see some big jumps in terms of ratings and that is very exciting for a regular user of Liverpool in career and online modes. Now we won’t know the ratings until the game is released, or at least far closer to the time, but here are my predicted player ratings along with reasoning and predicted potential* ratings.
Name | FIFA 14Rating** |
Predicted FIFA15 Rating |
Potential | Reasoning |
Simon Mignolet | 82 | 82 | 83 | Can’t see his rating being changed. Had a good season but not exceptional; so 82 is fair |
Brad Jones | 71 | 69 | 70 | With age and little game time I see a small decrease |
Danny Ward | 57 | 60 | 74 | With Jones decreasing, I can see them balancing that with a slight increase for Ward |
Glen Johnson | 78 | 77 | 77 | A dreadful season should see his rating plummet, but that’s not FIFA’s style. 1 down |
John Flanagan | 70 | 75 | 82 | A fantastic season should see him become a ‘golden’ standard player at 75 |
Javier Manquillo | 67 | 70 | 80 | A good debut and a big move should see his rating improve, but not expecting a huge jump |
Daniel Agger | 81 | 81 | 83 | Despite his lack of game time, he is still seen as a top defender, thus I can’t see any change |
Martin Skrtel | 81 | 82 | 83 | A solid season and now seen as the veteran defender in the backline. Heading boost likely |
Mamadou Sakho | 81 | 81 | 84 | Once again, defence the issue last season so wrong for increase but solid, so same again |
Dejan Lovren | 79 | 81 | 84 | An impressive season for Southampton and a big move should see his rating rise |
Kolo Toure | 79 | 76 | 78 | An average season with some high profile errors, with age as well; should see a decrease |
Sebastien Coates | 71 | 70 | 78 | As no one really saw anything of him at the end of last season after injury; about the same |
Jose Enrique | 79 | 77 | 80 | Injuries; a season out will more than likely result in a slight decrease in ratings for Jose |
Alberto Moreno | 76 | 76 | 85 | Rating to be similar to his Europa winning end of season rating but with big potential |
Steven Gerrard | 83 | 84 | 84 | A super season for captain fantastic. At 84 he will be the top CDM in the BPL |
Jordan Henderson | 78 | 82 | 84 | Expecting a big increase with potential to be one of the top midfielders in the BPL |
Joe Allen | 77 | 78 | 82 | Entering his peak years he may see a slight increase but will be about the same sadly |
Emre Can | 73 | 74 | 85 | Should be higher than 74, but expect EA to capitalise on his top ‘silver’ rating |
Lucas Leiva | 80 | 77 | 80 | Injuries; lack of form. Lost his place in CDM. Expecting a big drop for former Mr Reliable |
Adam Lallana | 79 | 83 | 85 | Amazing season and a big transfer should see him be one of the top rated CAMs in the BPL |
Phillipe Coutinho | 81 | 82 | 87 | When he was on it, he was superb. As a result expect a huge potential! |
Suso | 74 | 74 | 83 | A good loan season, but expect EA to want one more season of a 74 cash cow player |
Raheem Sterling | 79 | 83 | 88 | Rodgers said he was the top youngster in Europe. With 88 potential he won’t be far off |
Lazar Markovic | 77 | 77 | 87 | Another highly rated youngster with a big move. Expect another high potential |
Jordon Ibe | 67 | 70 | 84 | After the success of Sterling, Ibe is next in line and as a result should see an improved rating |
Oussama Assaidi | 74 | 74 | 76 | Oh yeah…forgot about him. Expected to leave but with skill and pace EA will want another 74 |
Daniel Sturridge | 83 | 84 | 86 | Second top goal scorer in the league will result in him being in the top 4 best rated STs in BPL |
Rickie Lambert | 76 | 79 | 80 | A dream move for the late bloomer. Another good season should see a slight increase |
Fabio Borini | 72 | 77 | 81 | Impressive loan season. Expecting an increase, even if he does leave |
Samed Yesil | 64 | 64 | 77 | Once seen as the future of German football, but career has stagnated, along with his rating |
Jack Robinson | 66 | 66 | 77 | Another player who was highly rated but not lived up to the hype. No increase expected |
Harry Wilson | 56 | 60 | 80 | His debut for Wales should see him be given a huge potential. Could be even higher than 80 |
Lloyd Jones | 56 | 58 | 68 | Not expecting much change from last season. Slight increase with age, but still low obviously |
Cameron Brannagan | 56 | 58 | 69 | IRL has a potential for a big future but doubt EA scouts know too much about him |
Jerome Sinclair | N/A | 56 | 70 | Youngest ever Liverpool player, should result in decent potential |
Iago Aspas | 76 | 74 | 79 | The first of the loanees is Mr Aspas. Dreadful season, so should see him become a silver |
Thiago Illori | 73 | 74 | 84 | Good loan move last season. Will be another 74 but with a high potential hopefully |
Andre Wisdom | 69 | 70 | 80 | Good loan in the Championship should see him get a slight increase |
Luis Alberto | 72 | 70 | 79 | Little game time should hinder his rating but still expecting decent potential |
Joao Carlos Teixeira | 58 | 60 | 78 | Made his debut last season, so slight increase, but regardless, should have decent potential |
Brad Smith | N/A | 58 | 70 | Thanks to a cameo against Chelsea should have okay potential |
Divock Origi | 71 | 74 | 84 | One of the stars of the World Cup and a big transfer. Expect big potential and 74 rating! |
Rafa Paez | N/A | 58 | 65 | A relative unknown. May sneak into the game as a result of his loan move |
*The rating the player reaches if he reaches his potential in theory.
** As of 8th August 2014.
Now obviously these are just predictions and, knowing EA, I will be completely out and they will somehow decrease Stevie G’s rating again; but I wouldn’t be surprised to see us have one of the top teams in Europe in terms of potential. We would have been a certainty for a 5* rating overall with Suarez (expect he will be at least a 90!) but with him gone, I wouldn’t be amazed to see us just miss out.
Would love to hear fellow LFC FIFA fans’ predictions and thoughts on mine and can’t wait to get the new game and start my season in the Champions League again!
