Alberto Moreno scores the goals of the game against Spurs today

What a difference a week makes. Less than a week ago we were all despairing about the City result and hoping that Balotelli was our saviour. Against Spurs, we saw once again what a devastating force Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool could be on their collective day. Click through the link below to see our player ratings.

Mostly correct but sturridge 8? For what exactly? All the shots were easily saved or off target.
I think he’s been poor for the last 3 games.

Johnson injury has been a blessing . Manquilo/Moreno give our team a better defensive cover.

Are you serious? Studge was one of the best players on the pitch today. He is so quick footed ,bamboozling and wrong footing defenders easily, dropping deep and holding up the ball. The first goal was entirely his creation. He shrugged off two defenders and found that pass for Hendo in space. He had one of those suarez like games where he did not score but was a strong presence.Even against Manchester City he created the only goal being scored. In the first match against Southampton he scored one and created the other similar to today’s one again Hendo getting the assist and Sterling the finisher. With all due respect you should reconsider before saying things like ” I think he’s been poor for the last 3 games.”

This is exactly why it was mentioned in the article that a lot of what Sturridge does isn’t appreciated, strikers aren’t just there to score goals anymore. His work off the ball was superb, he pulled Spurs left and right and ran their defence ragged. On the ball, his control and hold-up play are excellent. If Suarez had put in a shift like that today, everybody would be raving about him. It’s time Sturridge got the credit he deserves from a lot of our fans.

I’m obviously watching a different Sturridge but we’re all entitled to our opinion BUT Johnson’s injury being a blessing? Most would agree he should be dropped but I wouldn’t be happy about a player getting injured so he can’t play.

Well said, well done. The defence will be better than this, i hope to see more of Sarkho and Lovren. Good one for Marquilo and Moreno and i think Lambert should start the next game ahead of Daniel S.

  • Garry says:

Martin Skirtel back will make us stronger but Sturrage was class along with Henderson and our fullbacks and Balo gives us more options up front great performance

  • Smith Kalu says:

    Everybody tried today.Gud 4 Balotelli

  • stevenG says:

well, first and for most i thank God for today match..we still need improvement.for me we really need skrtel and lovren combination in our squad.sakho jst flop today..i pray that we will never walk alone.

  • Paul isaiah says:

Sakho Was a bit shaky and at times nervous with his passes, so i wud prefer skrtel-lovren. Sturridge was to o gud for the tot’nham defence.

  • Tony9ja says:

Despite one wrong pass, sakho was good. I will rather pair him with skirtel. Noticed gerrard was week and we did not sign a replacement. I have seen nothing of emre can.

  • Steven says:

Still we have lallana to come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wow

  • Joealtidore says:

Superb performance,Great team work. Everyone definitely looked out for the other and i think sturridge is not getting as much praise as he deserves. He was a torn in the flesh of the spurs’ defence. Lovren did his homework well against Adebayor. YNWA
