With Liverpool’s new Premier League season two games old, one of the elements of Brendan Rodgers’ team that’s still up for debate is who should be Liverpool’s first-choice centre back pairing.
It would seem that, in Brendan Rodgers’ mind, that would be Martin Skrtel and Dejan Lovren but many believe that Lovren should partner Sakho, and the four goals conceded so far make a decent argument, whilst there are still those that believe Agger should still have a future at the club.
Whilst Sebastien Coates looks likely to move on, even if only on loan, before the season begins and no bids of real substance having been lodged for Agger it appears that the Reds may have four very good centre backs to choose from throughout the first half of the season, at least.
After the Reds’ defence was again exposed by City on Monday night, we’ll take a brief look at who the potential pairings are.

sakho and sekrtel should go! But B.r lacks technical knowledge to big games. Apply defensive tactise in a every big game. It was this same problem cause us title last season. Up your game against big teams! One point is better than loosing hole point.
i agree vickyboy.we should have played with caution against man cty.we should have wth 3 -5-2.3 defenders so that we have control at our defence.sakho should have to be 3rd in that defence.sakho is a solid defender can read the game and is solid, and hard tackling.moreno and johnson the fulbacks would play freely.we should have wth rigidity and atack in mind.hendo and gerard as anchormen.coutihno as atacking midfielder.i also think that rodgers should have played sterling as an atacking midfielder so as to give leeway to play lambert and dboy at the same time.we utilise our fulbacks
