Moreno impressed in Liverpool’s win over Spurs

Liverpool’s young full-back, Alberto Moreno, has won the Liverpool Goal of the Month award, with only his first goal for the club. The goal took a massive 77% of the votes in August.

Moreno made only his second appearance for the club against Spurs, just before the international break, and will no doubt have been as surprised as many fans that his first goal for the club would be such a barn-stormer.

Reminiscent of a John Arne Riise special, Moreno took possession deep into his own half and stormed up the pitch, edging toward the Spurs box with only one thought in his head before burying the ball in style, showing a coolness in front of goal that totally belied his tender years.

The left-back had endured a shaky debut against Manchester City but looked to have found his feet in the 3-nil victory over Tottenham and will be hoping his goal will be the first of many more for the Reds.
