Spurs 0-3 LIVERPOOL – the Away Day Review

Moreno’s goal was the highlight of the win over Spurs on Sunday

First of all I would like to apologise to the readers of the site as I have not been very active recently, but I have been dealing with other things. I am now going to write an article about Sunday and how it was an away day for the traveling reds.

It was an early one, my coach was leaving at 6am and was picked up just after half 5 from my house to go to the coach which was leaving from a pub near Anfield. After Manchester City it was a bit flat heading towards the pub.

The coach was only half full until we stopped off at The Rocket pub to pick up the rest of the lads and then as we got onto the M62 the question was asked, “What ones are you doing then lads?”

Everyone knew what they meant by the question, the most popular one was Real Madrid away but the regulars seemed to be doing most of them and hearing some of the ways of getting over to the games were amazing.

One for example, Manchester to Brussels, Brussels to Dusseldorf, Dusseldorf to Sofia – costing the small price of £120 for the Ludogorets match.

Then as we got closer to London the focus turned to the game at White Hart Lane, some thought it would be similar to last season, some thought it would be tougher. No one thought we would drop points.

We went to a pub about a five minute walk from White Hart Lane after arriving about 11 o’clock and as the pints went down the songs got started and you bumped into other familiar faces, the talk was Europe again.

It was great; it hasn’t been like this for ages!

All talk of Europe aside, the game itself was brilliant, with Balotelli making an impression and this lead to his name been sang by the Reds in the corner at White Hart Lane. I remember I wrote an article for this site saying I would get Mario Balotelli and I am so happy we have signed him.

The highlight was Alberto Moreno’s goal, from the second he won the ball everyone knew he was going to score. The celebrations from our end when that went in where so similar to those of Flanagan’s goal last season, I had a bruised shin after it!

After the full time whistle, the walk was longer to the coaches than it has in previous seasons, but once everyone returned the general feeling was that last night was not a fluke and this season is going to be just as exciting and we may go close again.
