The current Napoli striker would be a top addition to Liverpool

While he’s one of a long list of names that were linked with Liverpool over the summer, the fact remains that, at present, Liverpool are in dire need of a proven goalscorer. After the World Cup, there was a strong rumour of a number of players, in particular the man who scored against Liverpool last night, Karim Benzema, and after seeing Mario Balotelli struggle through his first few months at the club it seems that FSG are about to give Rodgers a bit more to bring in a top class forward.

So, the news in the Daily Express that the Reds have lodged a £31.2 million bid yesterday, will go down very well indeed. And give the current predicament that Napoli currently find themselves in financially, it’s unlikely they’d be able to turn down such a huge bid for their superstar.

Argentine Higuain moved to Napoli in 2013 and has been equally as prolific in Italy as in Spain, scoring 27 goals, with 14 assists, in 55 games – a contribution that is not to be sniffed at.

Liverpool have missed last season second top scorer for much of this season, and while Mario Balotelli has scored just once since his arrival, Brendan Rodgers does not seem too keen on giving Lambert or Borini a chance to prove themselves. How would you feel about signing Higuain; could he be the answer to all of our scoring problems?

We should have gone for a marquee attacker in pre season.. we are too slow in the market and advertise who we are scouting. Spurs will wait and then bid for a player we want.big mistake
Instead br bought average players and weakened the main team. And for gods sake why balloted .He was booted out from two British teams.sold suarez and brought in more trouble…..fix it BR.or we won’t even think about top four and you will be out of a job after what you have spent.lovren is a below average player and overpriced.get car rather in as a defensive coach.show these guys how to defend.if we had him last yr.we would have the epl trophy in the cabinet.
