Lambert believes that now is the time for Liverpool to pick up

With the recent international break now over, Liverpool have another month of domestic and Champions League football to keep them busy and Reds fans will again rejoice in the return of a number of injured squad members, such as Daniel Sturridge, Emre Can and Joe Allen, as well as the likes of Adam Lallana, Martin Skrtel, and Raheem Sterling bring their international form back with them.

Speaking, with the recent poor run behind them, Liverpool’s Rickie Lambert told the club website “Obviously we would have liked to have started better and won more points. I think most teams would say the same. But we understand the calibre of the teams we’ve played and we’ve done OK.

“Now we have a chance to try to push ourselves right up the league. That starts on Sunday against QPR. We’ve got to start looking to take three points now from each and every game.”

Having taken just 10 points from their opening games, the Reds have not started the season in the same way they finished last, with most fans and press expecting a similarly explosive start, despite the absence of Luis Suarez.

But while that hasn’t exactly been the case, there have been definite signs of improvement lately and Brendan Rodgers may finally have something close to his full squad available when the Reds travel to QPR this Sunday.

Although nobody realistically expected the Reds to cope with the spending power of the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City again this season, it’s unlikely anybody would’ve imagined the current squad would be sitting at 9th position in the table, sharing 10 points with West Ham and Aston Villa (oh, and big-spending Arsenal!) but with Hull and Newcastle following, QPR on Sunday before Brendan’s charges take on Chelsea there is every chance that the team could occupy a top-4 place by that time.

Should the Reds be looking to take maximum points over the next few games?

We should look for 9 points from the next 3 games. Anything else, is failure.
Oh, and Real Madrid…baby manager BR , the self proclaimed biggest teacher of himself, better study a way of beating /containing them, or else we will be embarrassed.
    Transition Brendan????? Explain southampton fc?
More like buying average players and offering sturridge a 150 k a year contract after one good season. Which by the way, was down to Suarez’! And despite you. If lambert played with Suarez, he’d have 20 plus goals to his name
