Will the Reds be able to cope in Dan's absence?

Sturridge is as gutted as the fans at his latest injury setback

After being struck with his 3rd thigh injury in three and a half months and looking like he’s likely to miss another 2 months, at least, Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge has become a major injury concern in the long-term for the Reds.

But the Reds VC is fully behind Sturridge receiving a clean bill of health after his current spell out and says his team mate is more disappointed than anybody about his latest setback. Speaking to ESPN FC, Henderson said “It is a big blow, not only for the team but for him as well. He is devastated, at a really low point really because he was looking forward to getting back playing. He felt good so it is disappointing for us as a team and him personally.

“We have to make sure as teammates we are strong for him because he is doing everything he can in the gym and on the training field to get back as quick as he can. Hopefully he has a quick recovery, a speedy recovery and he comes back firing on all cylinders.”

With Liverpool’s other strikers failing miserably in front of goal since Sturridge’s first injury, there are major concerns that the season could already be over, in terms of competing for major honours and the January transfer window is taking on a more and more important role, as the season goes on.

Has Sturridge’s injury ended the Reds push for a first major trophy under Brendan, or can the team cope in his absence?

If we’d signed better strikers we wouldnt be missing one injured player. You need at least 3 or 4 quality strikers to compete at the highest level.
