Brendan is now on a slippery slope and must halt the team’s alarming fall

After probably the most shambolic performance Liverpool have served up since the start of the season, the club is really reeling now, as Champions League football is likely to not be back at Anfield next year and nothing short of at least 6 points will see the Reds crash ignominiously out of the group stage this year.

Speaking after the Reds 6th defeat in the first 12 games, Rodgers said “I’m not arrogant enough to think that I will be in a job through anything. Any manager will tell you, that you have to win games and you have to get results, especially after how we’ve been developing as a football club. But I have a great communication line with the owners.

“We’ve been honest enough with each other, but ultimately you have to get results. You have to perform. In my first year when we weren’t maybe getting the results we were performing well.”

“Owners and directors and chairmen and chief executives have to see development on the field. Barring this period, our development has been very good and fast. But there’s no doubt as a manager you have to get results. That will support the confidence to the owners, and you take it from there. I will only ever do my best.

“The best has seen us develop well. Now I need to fight even harder. And take the responsibility because as manager full responsibility comes down to me. Any pressure comes on to me.”

The defeat leaves Liverpool on 14 points after the worst start to a season since the Premier Leagues’ inaugural season and Rodgers faces a huge task to turn it around, with the pressure on to get performances out of a group of players that are struggling either for confidence or look to have lost faith in themselves or the manager.

He went on “It’s my responsibility as the manager, ultimately. I put the team out there, the best team to win us the game. We made a good start. You could see our passing was a wee bit tentative, and then we make mistakes. Mistakes you wouldn’t expect to see at a team that’s supposed to be challenging [for the title].”

Do you believe in Brendan’s ability to turn things around, or is the team in free fall meaning his future is under question already?

its either you drop gerrard for lucas and lovren for kolo toure!sakho and play i midfield with can, lucas, coutinho with lallana, sterling and borini up top or you go. Please FSG sack him before he turns our club into a relegation fightting club, he is just a midle class manager who is so dogmagic and inept

So David. Where is the article titled ‘is Rogers a true great? ”
I never belived in this guy. Couldn’t make my mind up whether he was a fraud or not. Settled for, he is developing. Over the summer , the man thought he was simply great. I bet he smiled every time he walked past the portrait of himself.
Find another manager, start the search , then sack him. We are in free fall.

Rogers should go, he doesn’t have game plan, no first eleven rotating players week in week out. We need Rafa

  • Benitez nig says:

Finally my fellow kopites are beginning to see that we have a below average manager, after signing 9 players you lose 4 straight matches and all you can tell us is you take the whole blame, laughable indeed, rafa benitez is willing and knows what it takes to manage this great club not this english flop, average manager.bring back RAFA BENITEZ FSG

After losing Luis to Barca & then Danny boy to injuries ,we were always going to struggle against the better squads, but the performances against the lesser teams have been disgraceful. Lovren ,Gerrard, Balotelli johnson ,even Sterling have been way off anything expected of their potential,it looks to me now Rodgers has lost the respect from these players ,In fairness he has not helped with his selection & persistence playing some these while ignoring the likes of Borini. Allen lallana ,Moreno “The elephant in the room.”ie defence is a problem that has continued ,& will probably cost him his job. What difference a year makes.

Lol!!! Lucas Skrtel and Johnson were Benitez signings too and people think Rafa is the answer!!
