Brendan has it all to do to save the teams’ season

The aftermath of the Reds’ 3-1 reversal against Palace yesterday continues apace, as whispers and gossip suggest that Liverpool are already beginning to line up replacements for the man that took Liverpool to the brink of the Premier League title last season.

Speaking in his post-match press conference, Rodgers admitted there is a lot of work to do and that nobody were as disappointed as himself and his charges for the current poor form, he said “It was bitterly disappointing. It was nowhere near the level that we would expect. We started the game as you would want, but I think you saw a team low on confidence today.

“We’re not quite together as a team, which is what we pride our work on. We need to find a solution very quickly because it was very disappointing. It’s my responsibility as the manager, ultimately.”

Already Rodgers had accepted the full responsibility on Sunday evening, when quizzed about the result and some of his new signings and transfer decisions have come under increased scrutiny. He went on, “We need to find a way because we’ve seen over the last couple of years as we have seen this group develop that they are very talented players. But it’s been a new phase this season and we’ve had a lot of games, a lot less preparation time in terms of coaching, and injuries that were key for us – but we can’t complain.

“We just have to get on with it and find ways of getting results, because that’s what Liverpool is about. We’ve showed the real size and power of this club with the last two years and we hope to build on that. We need to get back to the basics of fighting and being aggressive and then the talent should come out.”

With Ludogorets to come this week and Stoke at Anfield at the weekend, there is the opportunity for Rodgers to see an immediate turnaround in what should be deemed two hugely winnable games but nobody could have foreseen such a massive result on Sunday, so there are no guarantees and there is a lot of work to do in the interim period.

Can Brendan turn things around, or have his seemingly poor judgements in the transfer market crippled any chances of seeing a marked improvement?

Carragher summed it up perfectly after the game, NO leadership, mentally and Physically WEAK, he is also right that we are’nt even getting beaten by quality teams. Ludogrets will dump us out of Champs league, Stoke will bully us into another defeat and Rodgers will go.

It is not the signings, although some are poor. It is lack of work on the training ground, leadership , tactics that fall firmly under Brendan that’s to blame.
The players are good enough to keep a clean sheet. Good enough to see a game through once we score first.
How else can you explain the regression of every defender we had/or bought ? Or Reina becoming a bad keeper over 1 season under him, or agger, skertel etc etc. Can’t organise a defence. Rogers is a novice who failed to improve. Overpromotted and failed. He won’t improve, has to leave at the right time. As soon as we get another manager. The sooner, the better

Let’s be clear on one thing, the form we are in right now is relegation form and the buck stops right with BR. The longer FSG keeps BR here the worse it would become. I think only Hodgson is able to rival this situation and we all know what happens to him.

A lot of questions would have to be asked of FSG but among the most important is :

    1) With BR’s terrible record in the transfer market, could he be trusted with more money ? In this season alone, ALL his signings had been considred a failure so far. Altogether only 2, Sturridge and Coutinho can be looked at positively.

    2) Tactically, BR’s attack at all cost proves to be a disaster. He has proven that he simply does not have a plan B.

3)Do we need a manager who is a proven winner like Rafa of Klopp or we a club with the stature of LFC make do with someone who has not won a single trophy in his career ?

    4) BR had alienated proven players such as Agger and Reina only to replaced them with flops, can we afford to have a manager with such poor judgement ?

It’s clear, BR must be sack NOW.

MD, Ayre should be sacked with BR.Together, these two have brought lfc lower than a league two club with numerous incredible decisions. Imagine signing a pjayer(Ilori)who have pjayed for lfc two years after signing. What of the signing of alberto & aspas. Or selling of agger 3m for a 20m dross. What of sending out Ibe on loan for a 20m amatuer(Maqkovic) what of missing out on free eto’o for 16m moron. The absurdites are too many to list iMO, at the qate every other team is developing, we will soon find ourselves in the championship if these are left in charge of lfc.

  • Tony9ja says:

Sorry! Ilori has not pjayed for lfc two years after signing.
