It may not have been anything like the sort of performance we’ve come to expect since last season but Brendan Rodgers’ second-string put in a display of real effort and not short of quality against the European Champions.
And while no defeat is ever something to be proud of, it was a game of many positives in amongst a season of very few and there will hopefully remain some very tough choices for Brendan ahead of what will prove to be a most pivotal game against Chelsea at Anfield on Saturday morning.
